My Workstation

workstation.png

  • Mac Dual 1.25Ghz G4 "Mirror Door" tower running 10.3.9 with 1.75Gb ram, 1/2Tb Internal Storage (ATA & SATA). I'll get an Intel Mac when Adobe ships universal CS3. Until then I'm fine, this is still pretty fast.

  • Apple 20" LCD with Cubes screen saver active.

  • Apple iSight firewire camera.

  • Alesis M1 Active MK2 studio monitors, matched pair.

  • Motorola PEBL. Discussed here

  • Tokidoki Cactus Friends Sandy and Bastardino toys by Strangeco. On loan from my girlfriend.

  • Uniden PowerMax 5.8Ghz digital photo hooked up to a Vonage VoIP line.

  • Maxtor OneTouch 350Gb backup drive with Retrospect. Daily rotating incremental backups make good karma.

  • Emu E6400 Ultra sampler. I need a compatible SCSI card for this to work with my Mac, any ideas?

  • Herman Miller Equa II chair. Wish I found the one with adjustable arm rests but these are practically vintage at this point.

  • One-of-a-kind desk designed and built by Robert Russell Furniture.

  • Crappy HP ScanJet 5370C scanner.

  • Canon i950 inkjet printer.

  • Winning New York Lottery ticket. Only worth $4.

Nice workstation setup. So neat and tidy. What are the speakers? Your site is looking very nice, too.

Hi Brad,

Thanks for your kind words. The speakers are Alesis M1 Active Mk2 near-field powered studio monitors. I think they might be discontinued but if you can find a pair new somewhere you'll pick them up for about half the original $500 sticker price.

They produce a nearly flat sound which is good for mixing down music and not so good for listening to mp3s which show their compression much more. I've also got some JBL Creatures that I use for everyday listening.
